MICHAEL J.

Writer, Consultant, Outlaw Intellectual

As is ironically common for many in his profession, Michael Jenkins finds it difficult to write about himself. Based in the Southeast, he makes his living as a writer, editor, and consultant focusing on media and security/privacy issues. His career choice has been in part fueled by his life-long love of reading, self-sufficiency, languages, shooting, martial arts, and music. Professionally, Michael has been involved in both infrastructural security and close protection, in addition to being a policy expert on transnational borders. Michael brings a strong, interdisciplinary background in firearms and first-hand experience with disaster management, as well as the ability to communicate with a wider linguistic audience. When not at his desk or in his garden, Jenkins is most likely exploring the streets and landscapes of his beloved North Carolina or enjoying a book and beverage at one of the many craft breweries near his home. Michael Jenkins is a staunch advocate of the Oxford Comma.

MATT L.

COntributor

Matthew is an attorney, mechanic, and gun policy expert. He works in constitutional law, with a main focus on the Second Amendment and taxation. Before law school, he ran a small shop where he would fix anything from motorbikes to airboat engines. His time as a mechanic gave him experience with fabrication, which later led him to experiment with building guns. Note that when we say “building guns,” we don’t mean pinning an upper to a lower and calling it his own. We mean he’s cut and welded steel until it talked. Suffice to say, he knows what he’s talking about when it comes to guns. He decided to focus on these areas of the law to fight the scourge of misinformation that plagues the community. He currently works as a lawyer in a Washington, DC think tank. He has written briefs filed in the United States Supreme Court and various United States courts of appeal. His writings have appeared in print and online in publications including The National Review, Forbes, The Washington Examiner, and Fox News Online. He has commented on matters of law and public policy on television and other media, including OANN, The Blaze, NRATV, and Fox Affiliates. He graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama with a J.D. and LL.M. in taxation.
